MAOT and SAOT

MAOT & SAOT

Each partner institution of MAOT is also a partner of the „School of Optical Technologies“ (SAOT), the PhD programme for students working on the same topics as offered at MAOT.  SAOT and MAOT management are located in the same building and cooperate closely.

SAOT supports doctoral candidates and postdocs on different levels with a tool box of instruments such as scholarships, research awards or invitation for visiting professors.

Strong collaboration

MAOT and SAOT collaborate closely. This offers great opportunities for MAOT students:

  • Students can work as student assistants in SAOT research groups or in research groups led by SAOT Principal Investigators, Associate Investigators or Mentors,  enabling them to be involved in high-level research in the field.
  • Provided the requirements are met MAOT graduates may proceed to SAOT after completing their master’s at MAOT. This option guarantees a smooth transition from the master’s programme to post graduate or even post-doc activities.
  • Students have access to courses, workshops and seminars offered by SAOT.  Once a year SAOT and MAOT students come together at a one-week academy.
